I missed you in my past life
Met you on my cellphone,
couldn’t do that forty years ago
I missed you in my past life
Tried to find you out at the bar,
But you lived way too far
Well it’s beyond my comprehension
How I came to be in a different dimension
I had this feeling like, “Had to be a vision right?”
But I was staring down looking at my past life
Well this brought about so many questions, like
Was it a good life, lived with intention?
As for my love life, well it was just fine
But I had to settle for a friend of a friend of mine
And I always believed I never need technology,
But it led you to me
I missed you in my past life
Met you on my cellphone,
couldn’t do that forty years ago
I missed you in my past life
Tried to find you out at the bar,
But you lived way too far
And no one believes me now
I mean, I wouldn’t believe me anyhow
I heard you call my name
Now I know what it’s going to take
As I return to this body that contains me
I think back on this rare opportunity
You gotta take a chance, you gotta swipe right
A couple things I learned looking at my past life
You gotta thank the times, with only a landline
I wouldn’t know you and you never would have been mine
I can’t imagine if we missed connection,
Floating through space in the same direction
Well I once believed that you were always a part of me
But now I see
I really missed you in my past life
Met you on my cellphone,
couldn’t do that forty years ago
I missed you in my past life
Tried to find you out at the bar,
But you lived way too far
So glad you’re in my life
Spoken from the heart, like I really should have done three beers ago
I wanna celebrate tonight
Thinking about the ways and the days that it took just to get this far
