about
"Saiko" means "the best" in Japanese. This song is a celebration of being with the person you love. It came to me when taking a trip with my girlfriend to the town of Karuizawa. We started singing the chorus together and I knew I had to develop it into a full song. I hope it brings you that same joy when you hear it.
lyrics
When I think of you
I think of the good in your heart, the good in what you do
And being around you
feels like I’m doing the very thing that I want to do
Staying up with you
and you fall asleep in my arms, watching TV
I like it when you sleep in my bed
‘cause when I wake up, I know you’re with me
And I go,
Oh, saiko da
And I say
Oh, saiko da
You lift me up,
you hear me out, you help me when I come to you
Yes I believe it’s true,
and when I think of good times, I owe them all to you
And I go,
Oh, saiko da
And I say,
Oh, saiko da
Coming round with good intention
Some other people, well they come and they go
But you’ve been around from the moment I met you
This feeling I’m getting from you, I call it saiko, it’s the best!
Coming round with good intention
Some other people, well they come and they go
I’ll be around, I knew it the moment that I met you
This feeling you’re giving me, well I call it saiko, it’s the best!
Woah it’s the best!
Woah it’s the best!
